Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
Historic utilitarian relic, this brick was originally part of the foundation to hockey’s arguably most fabled building, the Montreal Forum. Home of the Canadiens from 1924 until 1996, this particular Forum relic is all the more important and desirable, as it sports an autograph from one of the Canadiens’ most noteworthy netminders, Patrick Roy. At roughly 4” x 8” with expected excessive weight, the brick has a Forum pin attached along with the handwritten limited-edition number of “626/800” along the underside. Patrick has signed across the face in black marker, and the signature stands out well. With expected wear commensurate with its former use and exhibiting a rough surface, layered plaster remains adhered in spots with a few small areas of material loss. An attractive display case is included, with a red and gold plaque listing the particulars including the limited-edition number. A pair of COAs will accompany, along with a photo of Patrick Roy signing Forum bricks.
