Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018

Led by Series MVP Derek Jeter, the New York Yankees took on the crosstown Mets in the 2000 Fall Classic, with the Series only going five games. The first postseason Subway Series since 1956, it would prove to be the third-consecutive world championship for the Bombers, the last MLB club to post back-to-back victories. We have a New York Yankees 2000 World Series Championship limited-edition replica ring that celebrates that achievement. Size 11 with an approx. weight of 40 grams, the vermeil ring feature’s the Yankees “NY” monogram centered over the tableau in 14K gold (just the NY monogram is 14K gold) with inserted zirconias, encompassed by “World Champions” above in raised letters, and “2000” below. The left shank pictures the World Series Trophy with "26th" and the NY skyline with “Jeter” above and “Tradition” below, while the right has a Yankees logo with the façade of Yankee Stadium above, and “Pride” below. With the inner band free of any stampings/markings, the ring shows heavy wear with numerous scratches and small grooves/nicks, with the surface heavily worn in spots, especially along the band and edges. There is also some wear and slight damage to the top of the “W” and “O” of “Worlds”, as well as to the “Tradition” letters over the left shank. We should also note that according to our consignor, roughly 20-25 of these rings were originally produced.
