Relocating in 1997 and christened the Carolina Hurricanes, we have a wonderful instant collection featuring the 2006 Stanley Cup champions, with a group of 13 sticks from Hurricanes players along with additional equipment including a trapper issued to Tom Barrasso, single gloves worn and signed by Keith Primeau and Jeff O'Neill, a pair of game-worn skates (user unknown) and two pairs of uniform socks. We have sticks used by Ron Francis, Rod Brind'Amour, Glen Wesley, Sami Kapanen (2), Adams (Craig or Kevyn), Shane Willis, Aaron Ward, Gary Roberts and Bates Battaglia, along with three unknown. There are Warrior, Bauer, Franklin, TPS, Easton, KOHO and Nike models, with each stick retaining it’s original tape over the handles and knobs, with most also having handwritten numbers. Each stick has also been signed (except the Adams, Brind’Amour and one other), with varying degrees of use visible, with no sticks broken or heavily damaged (one of the Kapanen sticks has a small crack along the heel section). We should also note that one of the unidentifiable sticks feature’s approx. 13 black marker signatures, with many heavily faded. The Barrasso glove is a Brian’s model in solid white with “Tom Barrasso” embroidered-on, and it remains in gorgeous new condition, with just a few small marks present. The O’Neill glove is a right-handed Hespeler model in Canes colours with his name screened-on, with moderate wear to the palm, with a large circular repair. O’Neill has signed over the wrist guard section in black marker, and the signature displays well. The Primeau glove is a left-handed Bauer Supreme model in Canes colours with “55” handwritten, with moderate wear to the palm. Primeau has signed over the Bauer identifier in black marker, with no issues for the signature. The skates are Easton Z-Air Comp models with intact lacing, with just light to moderate use exhibited. Each has handwritten numbers along the underside, with some red pilling material left over the tongues from the Canes red uniform socks. Lastly, both sets of uniform socks are in solid red, with a larger pair that have “13” handwritten showing heavy use with team repairs present.
