Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
This attractive and stylish durene attributed to the US National Hockey Team circa the late-Seventies is a puzzler. This style has popped up a few times and, to date, the collecting community cannot narrow down or properly attribute its former use. Rawlings tagging over the lower inside hem lists the garment as a size “44”, with this style labeling narrowing-down production to 1972-1984. The swooping tie-neck comes down to meet a tri-layer tackle twill "USA" in red, white and blue. Similar twill on the reverse is crafted to form the number "5" and the number appears on each sleeve, this time in red on white. Game wear is light, with a few dark marks over the right sleeve, with the jersey remaining in stunning condition with absolutely brilliant colours.
