Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
A rare opportunity, Classic Auctions is pleased to announce yet another partnership with the historic Montreal Canadiens franchise, one that will bring to auction a large and impressive bounty of jerseys fresh from the vast and seldom offered holdings of the storied hockey club. Examples are present from 2002-03 to 2014-15, with both important game-issued and game-worn jerseys offered, with a direct line from the actual player and the Canadiens franchise – to you, our loyal bidders. Each desirable jersey has inventory numbers from the Canadiens, with each to be accompanied by a letter of authenticity on Canadiens letterhead, with this section of impressive jerseys offered online with the familiar Classic Auction bidding rules applying.
American defenseman Greg Pateryn’s 2014-15 Montreal Canadiens game-worn playoffs jersey displays the Jean Beliveau memorial patch on the right breast. The round black patch with Beliveau’s retired No. 4 in white was worn by the Canadiens for the rest of the regular season and through the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs following the death of their legendary center at the age of 83 on December 2, 2014. Pateryn had three assists in seven playoff games as Montreal won their First Round Series against Ottawa in six games before losing in the Second Round to Tampa Bay in six games. “5P” is handwritten in the back of the neck, which has a size 58 flag tag. Game use shows in light marks on the front tail, low on the right sleeve, and to the left of the Beliveau patch on the panel of fabric between the right breast and the right sleeve. The Canadiens 2014-15 Game-Worn Jersey patch sewn inside the rear tail displays No. A03808. The Canadiens hologram sticker applied to the bottom of the “4” on the back has registry No. GU11073, which corresponds to the team LOA that accompanies this jersey.
