This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
A rare opportunity, Classic Auctions is pleased to announce yet another partnership with the historic Montreal Canadiens franchise, one that will bring to auction a large and impressive bounty of jerseys fresh from the vast and seldom offered holdings of the storied hockey club. Examples are present from 2002-03 to 2014-15, with both important game-issued and game-worn jerseys offered, with a direct line from the actual player and the Canadiens franchise – to you, our loyal bidders. Each desirable jersey has inventory numbers from the Canadiens, with each to be accompanied by a letter of authenticity on Canadiens letterhead, with this section of impressive jerseys offered online with the familiar Classic Auction bidding rules applying.
David Desharnais’ 2014-15 Montreal Canadiens game-worn jersey displays the Jean Beliveau memorial patch on the right breast. The round black patch with Beliveau’s retired No. 4 in white was worn by the Canadiens for the rest of the regular season and through the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs following the death of their legendary center at the age of 83 on December 2, 2014. Desharnais had 14 goals and 38 assists for 48 points while playing all 82 games for Montreal, which finished in first place in the Atlantic Division with a 50-22-10 record for 110 points. “3” is handwritten in black marker in the back of the neck, which has a size 54 flag tag. Game use shows in black marks on the front tail, on the CH crest on the front and to its right through the left side seam, on the left front hem at the front of the hip, low on the front of the right sleeve, and low on the left sleeve, which also has an unrepaired hole on the white fabric panel above the red cuff, as well as pilling inside the rear tail. The stitching has let go on the bottom right corner of the Canadiens 2014-15 Game-Worn Jersey patch inside the rear tail that displays No. A03678. The Canadiens hologram sticker applied to the bottom of the “1” on the back has registry No. GU11099, which corresponds to the team LOA that accompanies this jersey.
