Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
Previously named the Jets but having to change their name due to the WHA club utilizing that moniker, we have a Winnipeg Clubs jersey from circa 1973-76, and it’s been attributed to Ray Russell. Harv-Al Knit labeling is affixed to the collar, with a size “48” fly tag attached directly beneath. Styled with a large team crest consisting of three off-white sewn-on circles with a red embroidered outline beneath, the vintage V-neck has been accented with “18” on the sleeves and verso in matching material. Screened-on team logos have also been utilized over the shoulders, with loose threading visible in a number of spots. Russell wore the #18 in 1973-74, and also played a short part of the 1974-75 season with the club.
Just a few dark marks are visible on the vintage garment along with some heavy pilling in spots, primarily over each elbow section. A pair of team repairs are also present, with examples over the left sleeve and on verso.
