Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
Six-time Stanley Cup champion Glenn Anderson’s No. 9 was retired by the Edmonton Oilers two months after he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2008. Anderson had five of those Cups to his credit when he wore his signed 1990-91 Oilers gamer during his final season in Edmonton. Seven team repairs attest to this jersey’s solid game use, which also includes black marks on the front, back, and both sleeves, board burns on the right sleeve, and blue paint transfer on the right front tail. Anderson’s bold black marker autograph sits behind the crest inside the jersey. "90/91 2" black marker notation is in the back of the neck. Comes with an Oilers LOA plus a MeiGray Vintage LOA and COR.
Size "54" is handwritten in faint ballpoint on the Maska flag tag in the back of the neck. There is a team repair with an inner fabric patch on the left rear tail and two team repairs on the left elbow. The two team repairs on the right elbow each have fabric patches inside the jersey, including one with both blue and white fabric swatches, a team repair on the hem at the right hip, and a team repair with a fabric patch inside the jersey on the right front tail in the white portion between the orange stripe and the lower blue stripe. Black marks on the back include a diagonal mark through the bottom of the “9” sewn on in blue, white and orange triple-twill.
