Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
Fabulous signatures from legendary Montreal Canadiens are featured in this desirable lot, with signed/multi-signed books, along with 31 signed photos from Maurice Richard, Jean Beliveau and Yvan Cournoyer. We also have a late-1950s Canadiens postcard set of 20 featuring The Rocket, Plante, Beliveau and others. The signed photos were all made up for signatures, with 11 signed by Richard, 10 signed by Beliveau and 10 signed by Cournoyer. The books include The Montreal Canadiens by Mouton, signed by The Rocket, along with a copy of Lions in Winter, signed by Richard, Beliveau, Lafleur, Cournoyer and Robinson. There is also a copy of the Habs 100th anniversary companion.
The signed photos are all roughly 4” x 7” give or take, with the 11 signed by The Rocket in two different varieties – one a Blueline magazine cover, the other a 1957-58 Parkhurst, while the 10 Beliveau photos are also in two different varieties – one a Blueline magazine cover, the other a HOF postcard, as are the 10 Cournoyer examples, with two different varieties – one a Bar Terrasse postcard, the other a 1965-66 Topps rookie card. The signatures are all exemplary examples done in a variety of inks, with just light wear to the photos themselves. The signed books all feature wonderful signatures as well, with the single Richard example a large and flowing blue sharpie specimen, while the multi-signed book includes gorgeous signatures in both blue and black ink, with each signed on the first page. Lastly, the 20 postcard set comes in a small vintage leather display folder, with each example exhibiting just light to moderate wear. Along with the previously mentioned individuals, also included are Blake, Harvey, Johnson, Talbot, Turner, Langlois, Cushenan, Marshall, Goyette, Moore, McDonald, Pronovost, Bonin, Geoffrion, Backstrom, Provost and Henri Richard.
