The team captain of the WHL champion Brandon Wheat Kings in 1995-96, winger Chris Dingman was later drafted by Calgary, spending his time in the world’s top league with Calgary, Carolina, Tampa Bay and Colorado. From the Edmonton native’s final season in Denver, we have an Avalanche jersey worn in Stanley Cup championship season of 2000-01. A size 58 fly tag adhered to a CCM label is affixed to the collar, with embroidered NHL and CCM crests on the bottom hem and back necklines respectively, while the 2001 All-Star Game crests resides over the right breast. Featuring the attractive Avs team crest in use since inception, the solid white v-neck has been embellished with textured triple-twill numbers, along with matching alternate crests over each shoulder. The reverse number has been changed and there is also evidence of a former nameplate, with the sleeve numbers most likely changed as well. Game-wear includes a number of large dark marks over the lower front and sleeves, with faint board burns also present. Loose threading is visible in a number of spots, with a few small slits on the right cuff and near the left elbow. The partially-detached team patch resides on the inside hem, and it divulges the garment as a “Set III-1” example. A COA from the Avalanche will accompany.
