The Georgia Peach, the one and only Ty Cobb, signed in his own hand this personal check mounted in a framed display that features a picture of Cobb in his Detroit Tigers uniform. A member of the Hall of Fame’s inaugural Class of 1936, Cobb signed his full name, Tyrus R. Cobb, in bold blue fountain pen ink on his personal check. “Tyrus R. Cobb” is printed on the left side of this check drawn from his account with the First National Bank of Nevada dated “20 April 1957”. The check sits recessed within the matte below a colorized 8x10 image of Cobb, who had a career .367 batting average, 4,191 hits, 2,246 runs, 1,938 RBIs, and 892 stolen bases with Detroit and the Philadelphia Athletics from 1905-28.
The wood frame measures 21 1/4" x 15 1/4" with the check and photo mounted under glass and recessed within its beige textured matte.
