Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
A remarkable family with 6 brothers all seeing NHL action, Daune Sutter would spend the majority of his career with the New York Islanders, and he was a key contributor to the club’s early-1980s Stanley Cup dynasty. We have an Islanders jersey worn by the Alberta native in 1983-84, and it’s been signed. Syosset tagging is affixed to the collar including “52” fly tag, with a second tag exhibiting “3”. Styled with the iconic Long Island team crest in tri-colour tackle twill, the mesh V-neck has also been accented with dual-colour sleeve and verso numbers, with “Sutter” across the nameplate in matching material. Sutter has signed within the “2” on verso, adding both “To Larry Best Wishes” and “80-83 Champs!”.
Marks are present on the lower front, with a few small holes near the left elbow resulting from board burns. There are also 3 repairs on the right sleeve.
