Widely regarded as one of the best defenceman to ever play the game, Doug Harvey spent almost two decades in the NHL, securing the James Norris Trophy as the league’s top blueliner on 7 occasions. Harvey later spent time in the AHL with Baltimore, Pittsburgh and Quebec. This Doug Harvey contract hails from his second of two seasons with the Clippers, in 1966-67. A Standard Player’s Contract, the 8 ½” x 16” fold-over affair calls for Mr. Harvey to earn a base salary of $11000.00 for the season, with a $500.00 bonus listed for both entering the AHL playoffs, and for each playoff round that’s advanced through. The signatures from the Clippers representative and Harvey both display beautifully, with no issues to note.
The contract itself suffers from a few minor issues, including toning, along with creasing, corner wear and edge tears. Contracts from players of Harvey’s stature don’t make themselves available every day, especially with the added bonus of an exemplary signature.
