Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
Seldom-seen style from the Kingston Canadians of the Ontario Hockey League circa the early to mid Eighties is a knit, quite possibly worn during the 1983-84 season by blueliner Allen Bishop. The Canadians, who boasted the likes of Kirk Muller and Todd Elik around this time, wore these shorter uniforms made to match with their long-style Cooperall hockey pants. This shirt is hammered with loads of wear, about twenty team repairs and a slit up one seam running about 8 inches, probably to allow for freedom of movement. The number "24" is sewn on in faded double-layer tackle twill on the back and arms. Only a small remnant of the collar tagging is still there and the tell-tale red maple leaf design on the tag proves this one to be a Cooper-made uniform. A well-worn and scarce example from a team that ceased to exist after 1988.
