Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
Rich in hockey history, Quebec City and its “Aces” joined the American Hockey League in 1959-60, with this intriguing trio plunging the reader back to the club’s first three AHL campaigns. Game programs are handsomely and professionally leather-bound and feature a “J. Emile Dion” name in gold on the hard covers. That turns out to be the editor of the Aces programs starting in year two. The team published three different “volumes” each season, with a 16-page middle section with lineups changing each game. These books include a copy of each of the three editions, along with each and every 16-page middle section, if you follow. Condition is first-rate and it’s a blast to check out the lineups of teams from Cleveland, Buffalo, Providence, Rochester, Springfield, Hershey, Pittsburgh and Quebec and recognize players either on their way up to (or down from!) the NHL. Lineup sections from Aces’ pre-season games against NHL teams are also present. Some editor notes in pen, appear on some of the ads in the books, but all-in-all, special historical pieces from good old Quebec City.
Articles are predominantly in French, with however some also in English.
