Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
Bobby Orr and/or cereal premium enthusiasts will be enticed by this group, with kids back in the day asking mom to buy Post cereal, (Alpha-Bits, Honeycomb, Sugar Crisp), in order to score some of these goodies. Post “shooters” in their original packaging here include red all-star jersey versions of Ken Hodge and Orr, with a slit along the top edge of the Orr “bag” to be aware of. Also present are items consumers could send away for, including both the English and French editions of Bobby Orr’s 18-page “Shooting Skills” booklet which offer tips on actual hockey puck shooting. There are also two un-assembled red plastic nets with netting and a sheet, in French, with instructions for putting the nets together. An original mailing envelope which contained the “Bobby Orr Shooting Kit” is postmarked March 21, 1972, while a photocopy of the back of a cereal box outlines the hockey shooters promotion and the shooting kit offer. Cool stuff recalling a fun time to be a kid!
