Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016

Currently a TV analyst for the AHL’s Lake Erie Monsters, Jock Callander spent most of his career in the IHL, with NHL stints primarily in Pittsburgh along with Tampa Bay. This Penguins jersey was worn by the Regina native in 1987-88 during his NHL rookie season, and it’s been signed. Maska Air-Knit tagging remains affixed along the collar, with an embroidered CCM crest on the back bottom hem. Styled with a rubberized Penguins team crest, the black v-neck also features rubberized vinyl numbers, with the letters on verso affixed to a twill nameplate. We should also note that there is evidence of a former nameplate. Callander has signed the team crest in marker adding his number, with the signature exhibiting some fading.
Game-wear on the garment includes a number of stick and puck marks on the lower front striping bands, along with additional examples present on both sleeves, especially the right. There are also a few board burns along with a team repair near the nameplate.
