Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
A pair of bullies from Broad street are featured in this lot, with a pair of mid-1970s game-issued multi/team signed sticks from Ed Van Impe and Bill Barber. First, the Barber example is a Sher-Wood Pattern Made model, with “Barber” and “7” stamped-on, with both striping stickers intact. 20 individuals from a number of NHL teams have signed in red ink, mostly on one side of the shaft, with the stick possibly originating from an All-Star contest. Signatures include Pete Mahovlich, Ken Dryden, Larry Robinson, Bill Clement, Jean Pronovost and others. A number of the signatures also exhibit varying degrees of fading, including the Dryden and Robinson examples that have lightened just slightly. The Van Impe stick is a matching Sher-Wood Pattern Made model, with “Van Impe” and “2” stamped-on, again with both striping accents intact along with a partially obscured date stamp of “1975”. 16 have signed on the front side of the shaft in fiber-tip marker, including Bobby Clarke, Bill Barber, coach Fred Shero and others. Most of the signatures display well, with just a few exhibiting fading. The sticks themselves remain in excellent condition, perfect for display.
