Russian superstar Alex Ovechkin’s 2006-07 Capitals game-worn jersey is photo-matched to his sensational sophomore season. Ovechkin was named to the NHL First All-Star Team for a second consecutive season after he scored 46 goals and 92 points to follow up his Calder Trophy rookie campaign. The alternate captain’s “A” on the left breast of Ovi’s white Capitals road gamer offers a pair of photo matches to the Caps’ March 10, 2007 game and the number “8” on the left sleeve is matched to another Getty Images photo taken five days later. There is a team repair on the left sleeve and more game wear includes marks, red and blue paint transfer and board burns. Size 58 flag tag sits in the back of the neck and MeiGray and team patches are sewn inside the rear hem. Comes with an LOA.
Ovechkin’s game-worn jersey is photo-matched to the two gold-colored threads on the left side that show in the March 10, 2007 Getty Images photo #73673880. The same two threads also appear on Getty Images photo #73744056 on the same date, which also shows a number of loose white threads on the "A" as well. Getty Images photo on March 15, 2007 shows the loose threads in the middle area of the number "8" on the left sleeve, and white treads on the top edge of the interior ball of the "8".
Game wear includes light black marks on the front tail, a small mark with a bit of blue paint transfer on the right breast, some more light blue paint transfer high on the front of the right sleeve, board burns with red paint transfer and unrepaired holes on the back of the right sleeve, a team repair on the blue portion of the back of the lower left sleeve, some black marks on the back of the jersey, mostly on the right side.
