One of the most productive forwards of the 1990s and early-2000s, Joe Sakic spent over a dozen seasons in Denver, leading Colorado to the holy land in both 1996 and 2001. This Avalanche captain’s jersey was worn by the BC native during the Stanley Cup winning season of 2000-01! A size 54 fly tag adhered to a label is affixed to the collar, with embroidered NHL and CCM crests on the bottom hem and back necklines respectively, while the 2001 All-Star Game crests resides over the right breast. Featuring the attractive Avs team crest in use since inception, the solid white v-neck has been styled with textured triple-twill numbers, along with matching alternate crests over each shoulder. The team patch resides on the inside hem divulging the garment as a “Set III-1” example, with a team LOA to accompany.
Game-wear on the important sweater includes a number of dark marks over each sleeve, along with a few additional examples on the lower front and verso. The 2000-01 NHL season was extremely productive for Sakic, where he capped his 5th of 6 seasons climbing over the 100 point mark. He would also be awarded the Hart, Lady Byng and Lester B. Pearson trophies, further emphasizing his utter dominance in this era.
