Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
Team-signed items originating from the 1930s or earlier are extremely rare. Combine this rarity with exceptional condition and star power, and you now have an item worthy of inclusion in even the most advanced collections. We have exactly that available in this amazing lot, with a mini-stick that has been team signed in 1935-36 by both the Montreal Canadiens and Montreal Maroons, and it survives in absolutely gorgeous condition. At 13 ½” in length from the heel of the blade to the tip, 33 signatures have been placed on both sides of the one-piece stick, with 17 on one side from the Maroons including deceased HOFers Conacher, Smith and Tommy Gorman, along with 16 Habs signatures on the other, including deceased HOFers Mantha and Aurel Joliat.
As previously mentioned, the signed mini-stick survives in remarkable condition, with little to no wear to the stick itself, with a nice patina present. The signatures themselves display extremely well, with absolutely no fading and just a slight amount of bleeding.
