From his swan song that culminated in a Stanley Cup victory after 23 NHL seasons as arguably the games best defenceman, we have a Colorado Avalanche alternate captain’s jersey worn by HOF superstar Ray Bourque in his last season, 2000-01. A size 58 fly tag adhered to a label is affixed to the collar, with embroidered NHL and CCM crests on the bottom hem and back necklines respectively, while the 2001 All-Star Game crests resides over the right breast. Featuring the attractive Avs team crest in use since inception, the solid white v-neck has been styled with textured triple-twill numbers, along with matching Bigfoot alternate crests over each shoulder. The jersey also features customized cuffs that have been shortened and “pinched-in”, which is a common trait on Bourque gamers from this era. A garment worthy of any advanced modern HOF collection, an LOA will accompany.
Game-wear on the important sweater includes a few marks over each sleeve and verso, with some fabric pulls also present. There is also some staining that is situated on the right hand side of the upper chest, with some additional staining to verso - on, and beneath the nameplate. Bourque has added a gorgeous black marker signature to the reverse between the numbers, and it displays extremely well.
