Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
A Stanley Cup winner with Montreal in 1993, John LeClair became the first American-born player to score 50 or more goals in three consecutive seasons, accomplishing the feat with Philadelphia in the mid-1990s. This Flyers jersey was worn by the Vermont native in 1998-99. Nike size tagging including handwritten “10” along with a Center Ice label remains affixed to the collar, with NHL and Nike swoosh crests on the back bottom hem. Styled with the familiar and classic Flyers team crest, the solid white v-neck has been accented with double-twill sleeve and verso numbers, with the reverse letters on nameplate fashioned from single-twill. An LOA along with a COR from MeiGray will accompany.
Great game-wear is visible on the sweater, with a number of stick and puck marks on the front, verso and over each sleeve, along with heavy board burns covering each elbow section. There is also a small hole on the left shoulder, along with a few additional resulting holes/slits from board burns.
