A Calder Memorial Trophy candidate and member of the NHL’s All-Rookie team for 2007-08, Swedish star Nicklas Backstrom has spent nine seasons in Washington, securing an amazing average of just under a-point-a-game. This Capital’s jersey was worn by the Valbo native in his rookie season of 2007-08, and it’s been photo-matched. Size tagging is affixed to the collar, with NHL and Reebok crests on the front and back necklines respectively. Featuring the embroidered twill Capitals team crest that began use this very season, the v-neck sweater has been accented with double-twill red and blue numbers, with matching eagle alternate patches over each shoulder. The MeiGray patch numbered #E07969 sits on the inside hem, and according to their population report, this garment is a "White Set 1 / NHL Debut 10/5/07" example. An LOA will accompany.
Game-wear on the important rookie sweater includes a few fabric pulls along with some light pilling along the lower front. There are also board burns over each sleeve, with resulting holes on the right, along with spots of red goal-post paint transfer on the left sleeve. 11 team repairs are also present, with a single example on the front, along with the remaining 10 split evenly between both sleeves. Regarding the previously mentioned photo-match, Getty image #79001862 from Nov 23rd 2007 has been matched to the two team repairs near the "19" on the left sleeve.
