Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
From early in their franchise history, we have a Pittsburgh Penguins equipment bag that originates from the 1970s, along with a pair of gloves worn by Lou Franceschetti, most likely with the Sabres. The bag is in solid black with Pittsburgh Penguins graphics on both sides, along with stenciled-on “1”. A cloth tag from CB Sports is affixed, with the zipper in working order. With a number of goalies donning the No 1 for Pittsburgh throughout the 1970s, it’s almost impossible to pin down attribution. The bag remains in good condition with wear commensurate with its former use, which includes wear to the identifiers along with a few small holes. The gloves used by Francescetti are Cooper models, with a cloth label present along with embroidered and screened-on identifiers, with “Lou” handwritten in each. With just a few marks on each glove present, light use is exhibited, and they remain in gorgeous condition. An LOA for the gloves will accompany.
