Sensational Koho 231 Superflex model stick was used by the legendary Vladislav Tretiak and has fascinating provenance. The goaltending great used the lumber on January 8, 1977 when the Soviet Nationals took on the Nordiques in Quebec City. It was later given to Nordiques' defenceman Bob Fitchner after he made a request to the Soviet trainer. Showing extensive game use with the original black tape still covering the blade (where a crack is visible at the tip), and black also used to form a large knob at the butt end, the stick remains solid. "Tretiak" in small letters is stamped on the upper shaft. Adding to the stick's desirability are the 17 red marker autographs penned to the paddle and lower shaft. Some of the sigs have faded a bit but all are legible. The treasure, originally obtained directly from Bob Fitchner, comes with a document that has identified 10 of the sigs which include those of Tretiak, Valeri Kharlamov and Alexander Yakushev, as well as Maltsev, Vasiliev, Petrov, Shadrin, Sidelnikov, Shalimov and Lutchenko. This is one fine piece!
