This important jersey was worn by Martin Brodeur in the 2006-07 NHL season, and it’s been thoroughly photo-matched. Starting with the 2nd game of the season on October 7th 2006 (following his 447th win in the first game of the season - tying Sawchuk for 3rd in all-time wins), this jersey was worn, continuing for most of the Devils' road games from October 7th 2006 to December 9th 2006. Size tagging along with a “Goalie Style” label sits affixed to the collar, with embroidered NHL and Reebok crests on the back bottom hem and back neckline respectively. Accented with dual-colour twill numbers and the team crest in use since 1999, the important Devils 25th anniversary patch rests over the right breast. The extensive photo-matches include nine Getty images from October 7th to December 9th 2006. The MeiGray patch numbered D04752 sits on the inside hem, and a matching LOA will accompany this “White Set 1” jersey.
Game-wear on this Brodeur jersey includes a number of stick marks on the front, including beneath and on the team crest. There are also additional dark marks on each sleeve, along with a large 5” vertical team repair near the right seam on the lower front. Regarding the previously mentioned photo-matches, Getty image 72163061 from Oct 7th, Getty image 72256357 from Oct 24th, Getty image 72803055 from Nov 18th and Getty image 110384437 from Nov 24th 2006 have all been matched to the big diagonal black mark on the right side of the team crest. Next, Getty image 97287850 from Nov 14th has been matched to the black mark on left lower side of front of jersey, while Getty image 72658071 from Nov 27th has been matched to the black marks on the lower left front of the jersey. Lastly, Getty image 72823995 from Nov 25th, Getty image 72716663 from Dec 2nd and Getty image 72798826 from Dec 9th, have all been matched to the big diagonal black mark on the right side of the team crest, and to a couple of other black marks on the lower front portion of the jersey.
Brodeur appeared in 78 games in 2006-07 and won 48 of them, breaking a long-time NHL record held by Bernie Parent for single-season wins by a goaltender. With 12 shutouts, his career best, and a low 2.18 goals against average, Brodeur got the nod to the second All-Star Team and took home another Vezina award at the close of the season, his fourth in five years.
