Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
Jean Beliveau was the clear choice of his Montreal Canadiens teammates to succeed Doug Harvey as team captain heading into the 1961-62 NHL season. Big Jean had five Stanley Cups to his credit by then and would go on to add five more with the "C" on his jersey through the end of his illustrious career. “Beliveau 4” is stamped on the shaft of Jean’s CCM game-used stick from the outset of his days as Habs captain. The elegant and gifted center’s original tape jobs remain on the knob and blade, which has cracking at the tip, likely from aging. “McNiece’s” stamps remain on the shaft of this beautiful gamer that will make a special addition to a 500-Goal Club/Canadiens legends stick shrine.
