Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016

Habs icon Jean Beliveau signed this limited-edition 1964-65 Montreal Canadiens Stanley Cup banner. Big Jean would score 16 points in 13 games in the 1965 Stanley Cup Finals, with the Habs defeating Bobby Hull and the Chicago Black Hawks in a tightly contested 7 games. Le Gros Bill added his retired #4 to his elegant blue Sharpie signature, which sits on the left side of the banner along with hand-written notation of 4/4. A smaller version of the same style that hangs from the Bell centre rafters, this autographed beauty still measures a substantial 20 ½” x 50” at its longest two points. We should note just a bit of colour loss to the “6” of “1964”. Comes with an LOA from Classic Auctions.
