Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
Despite being a first round draft pick (5th overall) of the Winnipeg Jets in 1991, Aaron Ward was subsequently traded two years later to Detroit along with a fourth round selection for Paul Ysebaert. This Red Wings jersey was worn by the three-time Stanley Cup champion in 1998-99. With Center Ice and Nike size tagging affixed to the collar, there’s also additional Nike and NHL crests on the bottom hem. Accented with attractive tackle twill numbers and letters along with a custom-shortened fight strap, this garment has the back name sewn directly onto the jersey. The team stamp sits on the inside hem, and it divulges that this garment is a “2nd Set” example.
Game-wear consists of black marks along the lower band and sleeves along with 5 team repairs, with 3 on the right sleeve and a pair on the left. There is also pilling present around the back collar, and on the lower front and reverse band.
