From the personal holdings of prominent Hall of Famer Ted Lindsay, we have a collection of 7 different awards. First we have large statue of a player made by Austin, with an added cover over the base that states “Ted Lindsay”. The second example is also a large figural piece with a player perched atop a large base with a mounted mirror beneath stating “To Benefit Vladimir Konstantinov and Sergei Mnatsakanov. The third award is a plastic plaque made to appear glass, from the Metro Skaters Hockey League in 2001. Next there’s a brass looking tankard from 1979, a glass NHL Alumni award from 2001, a Mercantile Hockey League trophy from 1949 and a plastic paperweight in the shape of a puck with an inserted image of the Detroit Olympia. An LOA from the Lindsay family will accompany.
The “Sharpshooter” trophy is 14” at its tallest point, with the tag from “Austin” still affixed. The cover over the base has a nice signature from Ted, along with “Stanley Cup Finals 1956”. The top seems to have a chip out of it. The second large trophy is nearly 11” in height with a 12” wide base. A mirror beneath the player states in full “Athletes Believe & Achieve/1998 Golf Classic/To Benefit Vladimir Konstantinov and Sergei Mnatsakanov”. “Austin” is stamped into the base, with the original tag still affixed. The “Metro Skaters” plaque is 9” in height with “Presents to Ted Lindsay In appreciation for your continued support of women’s hockey”. The tankard has a glass bottom with the image of the Labatt’s logo, along with “Detroit vs Montreal/Ted Lindsay/Windsor ‘79” on the front, and “French Assoc.” on the reverse. The NHL Alumni award is glass with “Man of the Year”, along with “NHL Alumni-Royal Bank All-Star Awards Dinner/February 2, 2001 Denver, CO”. It measures just over 7” and remains in beautiful condition. The 1949 Mercantile League trophy is just under 10”, and it exhibits heavy tarnish and surface wear, with the engraved metal ring loose. The hockey stick is a replacement. Lastly, the plastic paperweight is a little larger than a puck, and it has glue residue on the reverse from a former mounting.
