Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
Currently in its third incarnation, Sportsman’s Park became the original Busch Stadium in 1953, closing in 1966. Busch Memorial Stadium followed, with the current “New Busch Stadium” occupying a portion of the footprint left by BMS. This section of dugout rail padding originates from Busch Stadium, and it’s been signed by deceased St. Louis Cardinals legend Stan Musial, along with Lou Brock and Red Schoendienst. At just under 11” x 17”, the dark green padding with vinyl covering features three grommets along both the top and bottom portions, with some wear, dirt and staining present. All three Hall of Famers have signed across the center section, with Musial and Schoendienst in blue ink and Brock in black, and despite the dark background, the signatures present well.
