Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
A great trio of game-used sticks are available here, from three noteworthy players. We have examples from Kevin Stevens, Paul Coffey and Mark Recchi, with all three sticks used in the early-1990s most likely while with the Penguins. 1) Paul Coffey. A Sher-Wood PMP 7030 model, the stick has “Coffey” and “77” factory graphics on the upper shaft, along with additional graphics on the underside. The original tape is present on the upper shaft and blade, with moderate use visible on the blade and lower shaft. 2) Mark Recchi. Name stamps appear on both the shaft and top of the wooden blade, with the stick retaining its tape on just the tip of the blade, with gauze-style on the handle. Just light use is visible, with abrasions present along the top section of the blade. Recchi has added a nice flowing signature across a section of the blade where the tape has been removed, and it remains perfect. 3) Kevin Stevens. A noteworthy example, “Stevens” appears on the shaft while an affixed label states in full “Kevin Stevens 111th Point 3/19/92 vs Quebec”. The KOHO Profibre model stick features its original tape on the blade and handle/knob, with a factory code of “1062 2” present on the underside. Light game-use is visible, with some wear to the taped section of blade along with a few marks on the lower shaft.
