Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
This wonderful Boston Bruins jersey was worn by Ryan Spooner while he scored his first NHL goal in overtime to defeat New Jersey 3-2 on February 27th 2015, and it’s been photo-matched. Size tagging remains attached to the collar, with NHL and Reebok patches affixed over the front and back necklines respectively. With a clean and classic B-spoke team crest and tackle twill adornments, there are also matching bruin patches over both shoulders. Game-use includes a few marks present including a large stick mark on the upper right sleeve, along with board burns with small resulting holes on both sleeves. A MeiGray patch numbered L03005 sits on the inside hem, and a matching LOA from the Bruins/MeiGray will accompany.
As mentioned, this “White Set 1” garment has been photo-matched. Getty image #464893150 from Feb. 27th 2015 (night of his 1st NHL goal) has been matched to the long loose thread on the "N" of Spooner on the nameplate. In excellent condition, this Bruins jersey worn by an up and coming NHL star while scoring his first NHL goal would fit nicely into any modern stash of Beantown material.
