Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
Once the personal property of Maurice Richard, this lot features three sport jackets worn by The Rocket, obtained from the Richard family. The first example is a plaid jacket with overly large buttons. A label sits on the lining’s pocket with “Tony The Taylor”. A tag affixed to the inside pocket has “Maurice Richard” handwritten, with the date of “August 31st 1972”. The second sport coat is also plaid in design, with both horizontal and vertical white and blue stripes. A label from “Miller” clothing sits on top of the inner pocket, with a label within the pocket with handwritten “M. Richard” and “6/12/75”. The final coat has a label from “Delmonte”, along with “Maurice Richard” and “31-3-86” inside the inner pocket. An LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany.
All three jackets remain in excellent condition and were well cared for. The Delmonte and Miller examples exhibits some sweat staining around the collar, with a few spots near the buttons showing fabric loss on the Delmonte, along with a few tiny stains.
