Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
As curved sticks began to gain favour among players, two standouts were notorious for their heavily bent blades, which could project the puck upwards extremely quickly to the dismay of netminders everywhere. Stan Mikita and Bobby Hull definitely started the trend of curvature, and we have one of those very Hull sticks for your consideration, team signed by the 1966-67 Black Hawks. A Northland Custom Pro model, the game-issued stick features the proper Gunzo’s stamp on the upper shaft along with “B Hull”. 19 have signed on the front side of the shaft in marker, including Hull, Mikita, Esposito, Pilote, Hall and others. Originally from the personal collection of John Miszuk.
Additional signatures include Wharram, Maki, Nesterenko, Hodge, Stapleton, Hay, Van Impe, Boyer, Ravlich and Dennis Hull. The stick has a worn-down section along the top of the shaft worth mentioning, and is in otherwise excellent condition, perfect for display.
