Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
Featuring Canada’s first MLB franchise, in this lot we have a team-signed game-issued Ron Fairly bat, along with a team-signed Montreal Expos ball both from the mid-1970s. The Fairley bat is a 125 Louisville Slugger signature model, with perfect center brand stampings. An S2 example as stamped on the knob along with handwritten “6”, it’s been signed by 30 in marker including Fairly, Rogers, Snider, Foote, Singleton, Mauch, Bailey, Hunt, Singleton and others. The official National League Feeney Spalding ball has been signed by 19 includes Fairly, Singleton, Mauch, Foote, Day and more.
Others who have signed the Fairly game-issued 34 ½” bat include Breeden, Lyttle, Torrez, Blair, Renko, Foli, Walker, Stinson, Zimmerman, Humphrey, McAnally and Chuck Taylor. The area where the signatures have been placed has been lightly sanded down to properly accept the ink, with the bat remaining in gorgeous condition perfect for display. The NL ball also includes the signatures of DeMola, McAnally, Montague, Taylor, Torrez and others. The ball itself exhibits toning, with the signatures having faded somewhat over time.
