Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/1/2022
Awarded "to the player who best exemplifies great and gentlemanly play", Johnny Bucyk captured his second Lady Byng Trophy in 1973-74 after netting 31 regular-season goals and 44 assists, combined with an astonishingly low PIM total of eight. This is Mr Bucyk’s personal plaque, presented to him at the annual NHL Awards ceremony. At approx 10 ½” x 12”, the silver miniature of the trophy rises from the center surrounded by the NHL shield and two sets of silver sticks and black enameled pucks. The engraved silver plate below reads "Viscountess Byng of Vimy Memorial Trophy - John Bucyk, Boston Bruins, 1973-74". Sporting just a bit of light wear including to the engraved plate, the trophy plaque displays beautifully, and will be accompanied by an LOA from Classic Auctions.
