Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
Remembered as a no-nonsense enforcer, John Kordic played 6 seasons in the NHL before dying tragically in 1992 at the age of 27. This pair of Sher-Wood P.M.P Feather-Balanced 7000 model sticks were both game-used by Kordic, one with the Habs, the other with the Sherbrooke Canadiens. First we have the white coloured Sher-Wood that was used with Montreal. With original tape jobs in place on the blade and upper shaft/knob, “Kordic” with his number “31” is stamped on the upper shaft and a factory date of “12 Nov 1987” is also stamped on the lower section, with overall light game-use present. The Sher-Wood John employed while with Sherbrooke is also a P.M.P. Feather-Balanced 7000 model, with “Kordic” and “24” stamped onto the upper shaft, and both the blade’s and upper shaft’s tape jobs remain in place. Great game-use is visible with wear to the shaft, and red streaks (possibly goal post paint transfer) to the lower section above the heel.
