Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
The 1992 Grey Cup game that took place at Toronto’s SkyDome was the 80th playing of the game, and it witnessed the Calgary Stampeders defeat the Winnipeg Blue Bombers handily 24-10. This stunning ring was presented to Calgary team member Mark Singer. Size 10 ½ with an approx. weight of 61 grams, the ring features a centralized image of Calgary’s stallion logo with approximately 75 points diamonds on the tableau, with “Calgary Stampeders Grey Cup Champions” along the perimeter. Beautifully constructed of 10K gold, one shank features images of the Grey Cup and “1992” along with the game’s score, while the other shank pictures a helmet with the Stamps logo, with “Singer” above and “#44” below.
In good condition, the ring does exhibit considerable wear showing it was proudly worn over a long period, with numerous scratches, dings and marks along all edges and the inner band, with the most wear showing on the bottom of the outside band. We should note that the manufacturer's stamping on the inner band might have been worn away, as there are currently areas on the inner band showing heavy wear. We should also note that Singer played for the team in 1990, 1991 and 1992, playing 4 regular season games in 1992. Comes with an LOA.
