Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
A lengthy team repair runs down from the collar of Alex Skvortsov's Adidas mesh affair worn by the Russian regular during the 1985 World Ice Hockey Championships held in Prague. The Russians would take bronze this time, allowing the host nation to bring home the gold while Canada earned a silver medal. Agfa sponsor patches adorn each upper arm and the numbering and front cresting is applied in a felt-like material. Alexander's surname crosses the back shoulders in tackle-twill letters applied to a nameplate. Nice use throughout with stick marks, scuffs, small stains and that five-inch repair at the neck. Collar tagging has been cut out. Skvortsov saw plenty of action in a CCCP uniform, appearing in the 1976, 1981 and 1984 Canada Cups, the 1979 Challenge Cup and the 1980 and 1984 Olympic Games.
