Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
The backbone of the famous New York Islanders dynasty in the early-1980’s, Bryan Trottier won the Conn Smythe as MVP of the playoffs during NY’s first Cup win in 1980. This Islanders jersey was worn by Trots in 1983-84, and it’s been signed and will include an LOA. With Syosset tagging affixed to the collar, there’s also additional “52” and “3” tags denoting size and set. Featuring shadow lettering, this characteristic divulges that the sweater is a regular season example. With a beautiful team crest, the “3rd Set” mesh garment shows light but definitive use, with a few dark marks present on both sleeves, along with a large stick mark across the right side of the team crest.
Trottier has added nice flowing black marker signature to the back between the numbers and nameplate, and it stand out well. Originally from the collection of the Newport Sports Museum, this sweater worn by a prominent Hall of Famer will include an LOA.
