Longevity instantly comes to mind when thinking about Igor Larionov’s career. “The Professor” was able to play at a high level for almost three decades! This Detroit Red Wings jersey was worn by Larionov in the 2001 Stanley Cup Playoffs, and it’s been photo-matched. A CCM and size 52 fly tag remain affixed to the collar, with additional embroidered CCM and NHL crests on the back neckline and bottom hem respectively. With custom-enlarged sleeves, tackle twill letters and a gorgeous and classic team crest, the back letters have been sewn directly onto the garment. Good game-use is exhibited with stick marks on the lower front, along with heavy board burns on the right sleeve, and 2 team repairs - with 1 over each elbow.
As mentioned, this garment has been photo-matched. Getty image #623774 from April 14th 2001 has been matched to a faint black mark near the left side hem, and Getty image #623786 also from April 14th 2001 has been matched to the pattern of small black marks on the left lower front side. The rubberized team stamp sits on the inside hem, and it divulges that this sweater is a “Playoff Set” example.
