Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016

A force to be reckoned with throughout the 1990’s, the Detroit Red Wings managed to place either first or second in their division from 1991-92 right up to, and past the millennium. This Detroit Red Wings jersey was worn by Todd Gill in 1998-99, and it’s been photo-matched. With Center Ice and Nike size tagging affixed to the collar, there’s also additional Nike and NHL crests on the bottom hem. Accented with attractive tackle twill numbers and letters along with custom-shortened sleeves, this garment has the back name sewn directly onto the jersey. Game-use includes wear and heavy sticks marks across the lower front and on both sleeves. There are also 3 large team repairs, on and around the left elbow.
As mentioned, this jersey has been photo-matched. Getty image #395603 from January 8th 1999, and image #368952 from January 19th 1999 have been matched to the big black mark over the left breast. With the team stamp on the lower inner hem and original team-store price tag still attached, this well-used jersey will be perfect for any shrine dedicated to Motown hockey.
