Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
With the most NHL games played by a Russian-born player at 1302, Alexei Kovalev was also the first Russian to captain an All-Star team. This lot contains a stick game-used by Kovalev, along with a signed poster. The Warrior AK27 model stick features “27” and “Kovalev” factory graphics on the upper shaft, along with Alexei’s gripper on the handle/knob. The tape has been removed from the blade so that Kovalev could add a solid silver sharpie signature near the toe, along with his number and “Best Wishes”. With just light-use to note, including a few abrasions to the shaft present, the stick remains in gorgeous condition. The offered 16” x 21” poster features an on-ice image of Kovalev, and he’s signed in the bottom left in black marker. Issued by Canadiens Magazine, the poster remains in excellent condition exhibiting typical fold lines with the odd crease present.
