Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
A day Winnipeggers won’t soon forget, the purchase of the Atlanta Thrashers in 2011 paved the way for the triumphant return of hockey to the Manitoba capital. In this lot we have a Winnipeg Jets jersey worn by Alex Burmistrov in 2012-13, and it’s been photo-matched. With size 56 tagging in the collar, the jersey also has Reebok and NHL patches on the front and back neckline. Accented with dual-colour tackle twill numbers and name-on-nameplate, the garment also features matching jet maple leaf patches over both shoulders. A Jets store hang tag is also included, and it divulges that this garment originally sold for $1000.00. Game-wear includes just a few random marks present to the garment's front, along with a team repair on each sleeve closer to the cuffs. As mentioned, this sweater has been photo-matched. Getty image #161479641 from Feb 9th 2013 is matched to the small black marks on both sides of the lace-up collar. We should also note that the Jets team patch remains affixed to the inside hem, and the team’s inventory bar code has been placed just above the fight strap, and it includes handwritten initials. According to the accompanying Jets LOA, this garment was worn between Jan 9th 2013 and April 25th 2013.
