Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
In the pantheon of historic boxing matches, the 1st and 2nd battles between Muhammad Ali and Sonny Liston are legendary. The image of Ali standing over a just-floored Liston from the second fight is one of the most memorable images ever captured in the sport. This exciting lot features an image from that very match, and it’s been signed by Ali. At 16” x 20”, the black and white image captures Ali with a menacing look, as Liston and spectators look on. Ali has signed in silver sharpie to the left of his image and the signature is gorgeous. Double-matted and framed to total dimensions of 22” x 26”, we should note there is some wear to the glass, and the left side of the frame is damaged and loose. An LOA from JSA will accompany.
