Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
The Conn Smythe winner in the 1990 Stanley Cup playoffs, Bill Ranford continued the Edmonton Oilers’ tradition of exceptional goaltending that began with All-Star Andy Moog and Hall of Famer Grant Fuhr. Bill’s 1991-92 Oilers game-used trapper glove has “Ranford #30” embroidered in black thread below the embroidered Vaughn Canada logo on the back of the cuff. Ranford dated what appears to be “1992” at the bottom of his dedicated autograph on the other side of the rear of the cuff that reads “To Jerry, Best Wishes, Bill Ranford 30” in bold black marker. Solid game use here on this game-worn glove from the goalie that led his country to the 1991 Canada Cup.
The back of the glove has various stains that are particularly gathered around grommets and sewing seams, presumably the result of dried moisture from sweat.
