Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
On April 15th 1999, those in attendance to see the New York Rangers take on the home-team Ottawa Senators witnessed history. It was on this day – in the final year of the twentieth century, that Wayne Gretzky played his last NHL game in Canada. This Ottawa Senators jersey was worn by Chris Phillips in this very game. With CCM tagging in collar, there is also additional CCM and NHL embroidered patches on the bottom hem. Game-use includes board burns with resulting holes on and around each elbow, along with 10 team repairs present, with 4 on the front and 6 on the sleeves, including 4 on the left sleeve and 2 on the right. A ticket stub to this historic game will also be included, and it remains in very good condition, perfect to display with the jersey. An LOA from the Senators organization will accompany, along with a second letter of authenticity.
