Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
This is one of Bobby Orr’s most unique game-used sticks! This Orr 1977-78 Black Hawks Koho 221 gamer was given to our consignor at the end of a Chicago practice by the legendary defenseman, who had most likely run out of his own stock and used one of teammate Dale Tallon’s sticks, judging by the name change on the shaft. “Orr” is handwritten in black marker below the “Tallon” factory stamp on the front of the shaft, all beneath Bobby’s distinctive and well-worn original tape job on the knob. "Jan 31 1978" date stamp sits low on the back of the shaft.
Solid game wear shows with red paint transfer and black marks on the shaft and more marks on the bare blade, which has wear and a few chips on the bottom edge, and more chips in the middle of the upper edge and on the top of the toe.
